As founder and sole owner of Paloma Salon, she’s also partial to the thrill and challenge of operating a dynamic business. A seemingly endless reservoir of energy, Paloma is as famous for her passion and drive as she is for her impeccable cuts.
Paloma’s love affair with hairdressing began at the tender age of 13 when she took a Saturday job at a salon, sacrificing the weekends of her youth to learn everything she could about the art form that quickly captured her heart. She completed her apprenticeship at what was then one of Sydney’s top salons, Synergy, which eventually became Oscar Oscar. So gifted and dedicated was this young stylist that she was soon asked to become a partner in the company. Earning her stripes at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London – where she trained not once, not twice, but thrice – working annual Sydney Fashion Weeks alongside some of the best in the business, and running a successful salon meant that before long Paloma was ready to go out on her own. In 2012 Paloma Salon opened its doors and the rest, as they say, is history.

Beyond the warmth and sincerity Paloma imbues into her business, her strength is undoubtedly her skill as a master cutter. Designed specifically for the individual characteristics of the client – their hair type, face shape, lifestyle and personality – Paloma’s precision cuts are effortless, wash ‘n’ wear styles that are easy to maintain and tailored to amplify the natural beauty of whoever sits in her chair.

Art lover, culture obsessed, fashion fanatic. John has been working his magic on clients as a master cutter since punk rock was a thing (the first time around). Having trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, John has styled for big name editorial clients including Marie Clare, Harpers Bazaar and Elle. He’s been a regular on the global fashion week circuit, styling for everyone from Michael Kors to Marc Jacobs to Dolce and Gabbana. The level of skill and meticulous attention to detail John brings to his cuts is beyond exceptional – to watch him work is to witness true artistry. His clients adore him because he takes the time to really understand their hair, and it shows.

Master all-rounder, avid traveller, keen learner. With 20 years of industry experience, there is nothing Josh cannot do with a head of hair – from tricky hair types to tricky requests, he’s got it covered. Equally proficient in colour and cut, Josh has a particular way with brunettes and really knows how to bring dimension and polish to naturally darker shades. He draws inspiration from his travels and is intent on constantly growing, learning and refining his skill as a stylist. Hair is something Josh never tires of, it is his first and eternal love.

True creative, family man, avid listener. Tim is an incredibly skilled, precision cutter who loves making his guests look and feel beautiful. He began his hairdressing journey in his birth country, Korea, before moving to Sydney in 2006 and earning his Diploma at Pivot Point College. With 22 years of scissor-wielding experience under his belt, there is no haircut Tim cannot do, especially when it comes to flawless men’s cuts, sharp bobs and chic shorter styles. He is extremely precise, cares deeply about the needs and overall satisfaction of his guests, and always adds a touch of glamour to his styles.

Gifted musician, always up for a creative challenge, honest to the core. Having worked across a diversity of projects as a stylist for the last 12 years – including five consecutive fashion weeks and a range of editorial – Georgette is constantly inspired by her work and thrives on the creative energy of the Paloma community. She is known for her seamless extensions, textured low-maintenance cuts, and lived-in colour. She values honestly most of all, and will always take the time to guide her guests in the right direction.

Jetsetter, reigning queen of brunettes, can’t go past a bouncy blow-dry. Earning her qualifications at just 18-years-old with the top salon in her hometown of Leicester, UK, Grace was handpicked out of 12 people in the entire nation to become the Schwarzkoph digital ambassador. Since then she has travelled the world learning from expert mentors, and after spending a year in Hong Kong perfecting her colouring techniques with darker bases, arrived in Sydney to join the team at Paloma. With her breadth of experience, Grace can handle even the trickiest assignments. She is an extremely strong cutter and has a special talent for making coloured hair look totally natural, working skilfully with baby lights, hair painting and toners to create striking, seamless looks.

Yoga lover, moonlights on the DJ decks, believes passion is power. Hailing from a long line of talented hairdressers, the art of hair is woven into Brenda’s DNA. Her 10 years of professional experience as a stylist was preceded by many formative years spent helping family look after guests and learning the inner workings of the industry. Expert cutter and super styler, Brenda is particularly savvy when it comes to creating the perfect balayage blonde and working with hair extensions for lusciously long manes.

Scottish by birth, Aussie by heart – Aleisha is a devoted mum and beach lover who moved halfway across the world to pursue her hairdressing dreams after completing her studies in Scotland. Now, with four years of experience under her belt, Aleisha is passionate about helping her clients to look and feel their best, offering blissful conditioning treatments, Keratin services, gorgeous glosses, classic women’s cuts and incredible blow-dries.

With 18 years of industry experience she’s adept at keeping her composure even in the most stressful situations, and thrives in a dynamic salon environment. Ruby derives a huge amount of gratification from seeing our guests happy and helping the team to reach their potential.

Meticulous coordinator, happiest in the ocean, loves her plant babies. After 9 years as a hairdresser working with clients and cultivating a genuine love of the industry, Olivia decided to hang up her scissors and have more of a hand in running the show. Finding her niche as salon coordinator, she is an invaluable member of the management team – supporting artists and ensuring the salon runs like a well-oiled machine. An avid reader, Liv loves nothing more than to be by the ocean with a good book.
