How To: Those Maggie Marilyn Buns

Some time ago Paloma Garcia has the pleasure of travelling to Byron Bay with Maggie Marilyn and R+Co Bleu, creating luxury hair looks for MM’s Summer Collection.

These three brands share an absolute passion for sustainability and herald the idea that luxury is defined by unparalleled quality and performance, overarching thoughtfulness and a commitment to conscious practices. They create inspired experiences and products that elevate our everyday while delivering on environmentally conscious, renewable methodologies are the mark of true luxury.

Here we’re going to teach you how to re-create Paloma’s double bun look and the R+Co Bleu products you’ll need to get you there.

STEP ONE

Section the hair right down the middle of the head, starting at the hairline around the face, through to the nape. It is really important this step is done with precision as it will really elevate the finished look.

step two

Apply Super Style creme, a big 50c piece to each side of the hair for control and sheen. Cocktail your products and apply 1-2 pumps of the smoothing oil for added shine. The amount of product you use here should reflect your hair length and thickness. For finer or shorter hair use less product, and for thicker, courser hair use a touch more.

Comb and brush through the hair.

STEP THREE

Tie-off the two ponytails with hat elastic. Positioning the ponytails at eye level will help elevate the face and gives a youthful feel.

step four

Start to twist the hair around the ponytails creating soft ballerina buns. Secure the ends with bobby pins and use extra U pins to flatten the buns and provide extra stability.

STEP FIVE

Refine any fly away’s with Cult Classic Hairspray, using Elastic Pomade to control the hairline.

Et Voila!
